Nutrient deficiencies accelerate the aging
process!
In order to slow down your aging process your body needs a
complex array of nutrients. These nutrients
must be able to work at cellular level
repairing your DNA and RNA. In an ideal world you would be able to obtain all these essential nutrients from
your diet. Sadly however, that has not been possible for many
years.
Essential Nutrients
The essential nutrients that you need are extensive and complex... the common
vitamins and minerals are only the 'tip of the nutrient iceberg'. You also need a full array of amino acids,
anti-oxidants, bioflavanoids, neuronutrients, certain herbal extracts, enzymes and specialized substances
such as L-Carnosine, alpha lipoic acid, acetyl L-Carnitine, ATP precursors and so on. Not only does your
body need all these nutrients but they have to be in the correct proportions to each other. In other
words synergistic! If they are out of balance some of these substances can combine to produce other unwanted
compounds that can do you harm. This is why buying a variety of supplements off the shelf and taking them
together can sometimes be dangerous.
Hormones sometimes need to be considered in an anti-aging
program. However, this is an area which must be approached with considerable caution and should ONLY be
addressed when you have your 'general' health under control by ensuring your body is properly nourished with all
the essential nutrients. By ensuring that your body is receiving the correct nutrients, hormone replacement should
not be necessary as the correct nutrients will stimulate your own production of essential
hormones.
Taking any form of hormones without first establishing the need for them by
laboratory blood tests can be RISKY. This is because you may 'upset' your hormonal cascade which is the process in
which one hormone converts to another, etc. If you create an imbalance of any hormone your system may send signals
to the gland that produces that particular hormone and shut down the natural production of the
hormone.
NEVER self prescribe any form of hormone. Only agree or
initiate a 'hormone replacement program' AFTER you are totally convinced that it is needed and then only under the
supervision of a physician who specializes in hormone replacement and is an expert in the subject…not to be
confused with your family physician who dispenses HRT under the protocols as set by pharmaceutical
companies.
